Growth in South Eastern Railway’s Freight earnings
Kolkata: During the first four months i.e. April-July of the current financial year (2018-19), South Eastern Railway has earned Rs. 4086.88 crores from originating freight traffic which is Rs. 286.53 crores more than the corresponding period of last year i.e. 2017-18 thus registering a growth of 7.54%.
This growth in freight earnings has been possible due to the increase in freight loading during the above period. South Eastern Railway’s total freight loading during April-July of the current financial year has been 49.35 million tonnes as against 48.33 million tonnes loaded during the corresponding period of last year recording a growth of 2.11%.
Coal loading during April-July of the current financial year has been 10.96 million tonnes which is a growth of 59% in comparison to the corresponding period of last year. The other major components of freight loading during the above period were 25.45 million tonnes of Iron Ore, 5.05 million tonnes of Pig-Iron & Finished Steel, 3.88 million tonnes of Cement, 1.59 million tonnes of Merchandised Goods etc.
SER Introduce one pair of Superfast New Humsafar Exp
Train run between Santragachi-Jabalpur with modern LHB coaches
Kolkata: Keeping in view the popular demand towards Jabalpur, South Eastern Railway is going to introduce the regular run of one pair of Weekly Superfast new Humsafar Express from Santragachi to Jabalpur today evening (08.08.2018) at 20.25 hrs and will depart Jabalpur on regular basis w.e.f 09.08.2018.
20828/20827 Santragachi-Jabalpur New Weekly Humsafar Express:
20828 Santragachi-Jabalpur new Humsafar Weekly Superfast Express leaving Santragachi every Wednesday at 20.25 hrs will reach Jabalpur, the next day at 15.55 hrs. In the return direction, 20827 Jabalpur-Santragachi Humsafar Express leaving Jabalpur every Thursday at 20.55 hrs will arrive Santragachi, the next day at 16.45 hrs.
The Santragachi-Jabalpur new Humsafar Express consisting of 18 coaches (AC-3 Tier-16 & Luggage Van-2) will have stoppage at Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Sahdol and Katni South between Santragachi and Jabalpur. This train will run with modern LHB coaches to ensure passenger comfort and safety.
