Massive March To Parliament On 13th March 2018 By AIRF

Based on the assurance given by GoM’s, NC-JCA has differed its strike on 11th July 2016

Highly disappointing of the discontentment and resentment amongst the Central Govt employees

NEW DELHI: Social Security to retired Government Employees that was achieved after sustained struggle, has been virtually withdrawn by the Government with introduction of “National Pension System (NPS)” effective from 1-1-2004, thereby meaning that the defined minimum pension/family pension is no more guaranteed for those employees who had come in Government service on or after 2004, although they are regularly contributing 10% of their wages in (Pay+DA) every month towards this scheme.

It may also be recalled that there had been all round dis-containment on the recommendations of 7th CPC in regard to minimum wages and fitment formula, which are not based on realistic data of commodity prices dearness as also not as per “Dr. Aykroyd formula” supported by the Hon’ble apex court of the country.

As such highly disappointing by the Government employees, ceased of the discontentment and resentment amongst the Central Government employees, a group of Ministers, on the initiative of Prime Minister of India had serious dialog with the leaders of National Council of JCM comprising of Home Minister, Finance Minister of Railways and State Minister of Railways who assured the staff side to look into the matter by appointing a competent committee for the same.

Based on the assurance given by Group of Ministers (GoM’s,) National Council-JCA has differed its strike plan scheduled from 11th July 2016.

Ironically enough, though, It was assured that this committee would submit its report within the reasonable time frame, but despite several assurances, nothing fruitful has emerged while more that 19 months have already elapsed.

It is further noticed that the present Government is moving faster towards implementing the policy of outsourcing, corporatization and privatization in Indian railways which would prove to be highly detrimental to rail users, what to talk of Railwaymen.

All India Railway Men’s Federation (AIRF), in its 93rd “Annual Convention” held at Gorakhpur in November, 2017, rightly resolved to launch “ Massive Parliament March” during current Budget Session wherein thousands of Railwaymen across the length and breadth of country would participate to register their anguish and serious protest on the above major issues.

Pursuant to the above resolution adopted in the 93rd Annual convention of AIRF held at Gorakhpur and aggrieved by the reluctancey and indifferent attitudes of the Central Government in resolving the above major issues of the Government employees, a Massive March to Parliament is being organized by All India Railway Men’s Federation on 13th March 2018 at 11.00 AM.
