Major demands of Track Maintainers have been sorted -RKTA
Raurkela : With Announcement of Risk and Hard Duty Allowance by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) which amounts to Rs. 2700 per month to all the Track Maintainers working in 16 Zones of Indian Railways after acceptance given by the Cabinet is a great achievement for Track Maintainers fraternity and comparing him with the defense personnel working in the extremities of Siachen is also an appreciable step. This has been implemented from 1st July 2017.
The Railway Karmachari Trackmaintainer Association-All India (RKTA) has thanked in a written statement and said they are very much obliged and grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, Miniter for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Arjunram Maeghwal, President of Karnataka BJP and Ex Chief Minister of Karnataka Y. S. Yeddyurappa, Ex-Member of Parliament, MLA of Odisha and Caretaker of RKTA Dilip Ray all the Railway Authority and Electronic and Print media for their support and well wishes.
The continuous and relentless work of Founder President of RKTA, V. Ravi, General Secretary G. Ganeswar Rao said that all the respectable comrades from all the Zones had made this possible to achieve our demands. We have staged Dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi and also at several places in Indian Railway to educate the Track Maintainers with their rights and also to bring this to the knowledge of all higher authorities.
Hence the Government of India and Ministry of Railways, through 7th CPC has decided to implement Rs. 2700 to Rs. 3400 per month as Risk and Hard duty allowance. This is applicable to all the Track Maintainers in all the Zones of Indian Railways.
Apart from this Rs. 5000 per year for Dress Code Allowance has been implemented and the duty hours of Gate Keepers have been reduced to 8 Hrs from 12 Hrs respectively. LDCE and GDCE open to all is also an appreciable step taken by the Railway Administration.
General Secretary, RKTA, G. Ganeswar Rao said that the Major demands of RKTA have been sorted out by the Central Government and paid us with a great respect for which we were ever waiting since so long. RKTA and all the Track Maintainers will always be obliged to the Government of India.
