The mystery behind delay in posting of General Managers (GMs) of Indian Railways continues.
Six posts of GMs are vacant, the oldest ones from January and February this year.
Posting of General Managers in Indian Railways has never been free from delays and controversies, pick and choose and favouritism.
The current panel was delayed by nine months for reasons unknown.
Now six weeks have passed since the contentious panel was finally made, but the indecision continues.
Insiders say that departmentalism plays a big role in such delays and favours, which even the Railway Minister is not able to resolve.
Many posts of Additional Members (AMs), which are the same level as GM, are vacant too for several months.
Not to mention that the apex level posts are quickly filled up, even with controversy, since the top management does look after itself well.
