TADK Issue: CRB doesn’t want to discuss the issue in open forum
On Tuesday, 22nd September, 2020 during the Video Conference Meeting with the Railway Board, the GM/SWR A. K. Singh bravely tried to force a discussion on the TADK issue and earned wide appreciation and acclaim from the Railway fraternity.
But, in spite of his repeated insistence, the CRB V. K. Yadav brushed aside the issue and said that it should not be raised there.
At this, the GM/SWR said that those who are already engaged may be taken care of.
This too was ignored by the CRB.
When Mr Singh persisted raising the issue, the CRB advised him to speak separately on this issue.
The question arising here is why is the matter discussed separately instead of on a forum level because this matter is of concern to all officers!
Questions are also asked by the officers – Why are the office bearers of the FROA keeping mum? Why are they not resigning or why don’t they start “work to rule?” Why are all the officers mum?
What is the 360° Method !
The so-called 360° method reportedly being planned to be adopted by the present government in the postings of DRMs, GMs etc on the lines of the system followed for Joint Secretary and above level postings is most unfair, opaque and undemocratic.
This will not only breed rampant corruption but will also cause large scale demoralisation and demotivation among the hard working, sincere and decisive officers.
The politicians will pick and choose the most pliant officers for all these important and crucial posts as the whole process will be non-transparent and hush-hush.
The background verification in this way mostly depends upon whispers and rumours.
The experience, seniority and APRs are not treated as enough for making these postings.
This is a sure way of destroying the impartiality and competence of the bureaucracy.
Video Conferencing – Only Time Wasting
When the main line of Railway working – Transportation – is sidelined, no purpose is solved by unnecessary video conferencing.
Nothing is being achieved to continuous video conferencing which extend upto late nights.
The Minister arrives upto post 8 pm, where the previous discussions by the officers totally falls on deaf ears.
The minister talks only the ga-ga about himself and the whole conference ends with no final solution for the day on any given subject, said an senior official who was participating in the conference.
All the officers are made busy in fatigue causing extended vedio conferencing wherein there is no actual development either on infrastructural or ground level, said the officer.
