National Railway Mazdoor Union Donates Ambulance to Kalyan Railway Hospital

General Secretary NRMU/CR-KR Venu P. Nair donates an ambulance to the Kalyan Railway Hospital and handing over keys to GM/CR Sanjeev Mittal in his chamber at CR Has at CSMT. AGM/CR, SDGM/CR, PCPO/CR were also present on this occasion.

Mumbai: Continuing its glorious legacy of commitment towards social and humanitarian services especially during crisis, similar to the contribution of Rs. 85 lakhs, National Railway Mazdoor Union (NRMU/CR-KR) made to Kerala CMDRF in 2018, in the wake unprecedented torrential rain and flood in Kerala.

This union has also done its best efforts to render various type of help and assistance to the needy during the ongoing lockdown period declared in consequence to the outbreak pandemic COVID-19.

As an immediate response to the call of emergency, this union started its endeavors with a donation of Rs. 51 lakh each to PM CARE Fund and Maharashtra CMDRF from the corpus fund of subscription fees of members of this union.

The whole branches of this union expands from five divisions of Central Railway (Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Bhusawal, Nagpur) and two divisions of KRCL (Ratnagiri, Karwar) led by the General Secretary Venu P Nair from the front have stepped into offer various services as follows.

01. Distributed thousands of food packets, drinking water and refreshment to the destitute, migrant workers, patients, medical staff and security personals across the zone for a number days until declaration of relaxation of restrictions imposed by COVID protocol guidelines.

02. Distributed enormous quantities of Sanitisers, Masks, soaps, towels and other safety accessories to thousands of staff working in various workplaces in Central Railway and KRCL, 10,000 masks were distributed among the staff of various divisions in the last week of this month and another 10000 masks are set to distribute soon.

03. Distributed these items to family members of staff at several railway residential colonies and sanitisation of many of the colonies done by union activists.

04. Touch-less/pedestal operated Sanitizer vending machines were distributed at various locations/offices across the zone.

05. Conducted awareness campaigns across the zone to educate the staff in regard to comply with the personal protection guidelines to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

Apart from the above, realising the requirement of a well equipped ambulance at Kalyan Railway Hospital, this union has decided to donate an ambulance to the Hospital.

It is dedicated to the service of staff by handing over its key by the General Secretary Venu P Nair to the General Manager of Central Railway Sanjeev Mittal on 01.10.2020 in a ceremonial function.

All the PHODs, DRMs, ADRMs were present at the dedication ceremony held at Kalyan Railway Hospital premise on 1.10.2020 at 14.30 Hrs.
