SER surpasses freight loading target in the month of July

Rakes containing food grains are being unloaded at different locations over South Eastern Railway’s jurisdiction.

Kolkata: In the month of July, 2020, South Eastern Railway has loaded 14.38 million tonnes of freight against the target of 13.76 million tonnes thereby registering an increase of 4.51%.

The main commodities of freight loading in July, 2020 were 8.96 million tonnes of Iron Ore, 2.00 million tonnes of Coal, 1.51 million tonnes of Pig Iron & Finished Steel, 1.03 million tonnes of Cement etc.

As a result, S E Railway generated a revenue of Rs. 1092.01 crores from freight loading in the month of July, 2020.

During the first four months of the current financial year i.e. April-July of 2020-21, South Eastern Railway has loaded altogether 45.72 million tonnes of freight.

Revenue generation from freight loading during the above period has been Rs. 3566.88 crores.
