Commendable performance of RPF of South Eastern Railway
RPF personnel of SER with seized foreign cigarettes
Kolkata : South Eastern Railway RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel have played an important role in providing security of rail travellers as well as in guarding the railway property and its vital installations.
During the nationwide Covid-19 crisis, RPF personnel of this railway, in the month of July, 2020 have conducted regular drives against miscreants involved in theft of passenger belongings. Preventive measures have also been taken to control the theft of railway materials and booked consignments.
RPF personnel of S E Railway have taken active part to conduct 143 cleanliness drives and also removed 21 encroachments at various places in SER jurisdiction.
Moreover, 103 boxes of foreign cigarettes valued Rs.1,31,000/- have been seized by RPF personnel of SER during a raid conducted at Shalimar Parcel Office.
During the surprise raids, 23 criminals have been arrested under IPC and RP(UP) Act and railway property valued Rs.57,916/- was recovered. 80 offenders were booked under different sections of Railways Act and Rs.40,350/- was realised as fine. 3 Nos. of left behind luggage of passengers were recovered.
Apart from the above, RPF personnel of SER rescued 2 minor boys and 3 minor girls and the minors have been handed over to their respective relatives with proper verification and acknowledgement.
