ARNI urged to govt to issue guidelines for Nurses across the country to be strictly followed in each and every hospitals
Various stakeholders like Railway Health Services, ESIC services are not following many rules provided by MoHFW
Association of Railway Nurses of India (ARNI) General Secretary Ghevar Chand written a letter to Railway Minister and all concerned authorities to mention that the present time of #COVID19 pandemic disease is in high risk zone. Govt has made lockdown for 21 days, hospitals are being prepared for isolation purpose, many measures are being adopted. the general people are worried about normal things required for life.
He writes, Medical health personal are seeking their issues to government regarding their safety. Everyday cases are increasing. Government has taken some measures like providing 50 lakh insurance to health workers. Govt is quite active in the management.
He said in his letter, ARNI want to raise some issues which must be heard on urgent basis.
Maximum hospitals are being suffered by acute shortage of PPE kit, N95 mask, normal mask, other basic things which are most important for safety of all those personnel related to health care delivery system. Various stakeholders like railway health services, ESIC services are not following many rules provided by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). The guidelines are not being adopted by them.
ARNI want to mentioned that:
1. Nurses are being discriminated for providing safety measures like PPE kit, N95 mask and others. In railways, doctors has taken sarcastically discriminatory view towards nurses by not providing safety measures, by forcing them to maximum exposures by calling everyone in duty, and N95 mask and PPE kit has been taken away by doctors in great numbers for their relatives , family members and are not giving to nurses. It is very crucial stage.
2. In many zones of railway it is reported that doctors has taken high numbers of tablets HCQS and Arsenic album a homeopathic drug for their family and relatives, nurses and other paramedics are not given these drugs. Hospitals are running short of these drugs. Is there any policy regarding this?
3. Railway nurses are being forced to work for long hours without safety measure in many screening areas.
4. Everywhere normal OPDs and General surgeries have been stopped, while in railway these are continued, measures of elective cases are being called and done. AIIMS has stopped all these while railway is doing continued.
5. Railways health services are not following any guidelines in many of divisional and sub divisional hospitals regarding minimum exposures. Every staff is called on duty and some are being placed in changing room and if any outbreak happen, there is any backup plan ready by railway health services.
ARNI request concerned authority to take up these issues and give strict order for implementation of MOHFW policy in railways health services.
Ministry can issues order regarding duty roaster for nurses so that minimum exposure can be maintained and any backup plan can be ready.
ARNI request to provide any guidelines related to tablets #HCQS dos preventive measures as prophylaxis measures to be taken by health workers if so.
Nurses should be provided basic amenities and safety measures instead of insurance cover of 50 lakh. Nurses must be given a long pending demands of high risk and hardship allowance.
Nurses are working at fore front and fighting with COVID-19 pandemic disease with utmost dedication and sincerity. Every efforts have been made by nurses to protect themselves.
They themselves preparing mask of clothes, they are using black plastic used for general dustbin of garbage to protect themselves, using simple mask but these measures are life threatening situation for nurses. For this, these nurses need life long insurance cover, risk and hardship alliance in R1H1 matrix, they should be stakeholder in government policy and implementation of health services policy.
#Nurses are special category of health services system and need utmost care to deliver a rigid health care services to mankind. The 2020 – the year of nurse and midwife, declared by #WHO will be celebrated in true sense only when nurses are being treated at par with other health personnel like doctors.
The nurses are always working much more than this and never expected much from authorities but now they need safety measures from ministry because now only these people are there and if they don’t, it is considerable situation who will deal the situation.
Therefore, #ARNI request to issue guidelines for #nurses across the country to be strictly followed in each and every hospitals including #Central, #State, #Railways, #ESICS, #Defences, #Autonomous and #Private set ups.
He hope this will be at top level of priorities of govt to save nurse to save #humanity ultimately. Till theirs efforts flourish, nurse’s efforts are there continue to save humanity.
