Release of book titled “Seduction By Truth”

Kolkata: The book titled “Seduction by Truth” authored by Mukul Kumar, an officer of Indian Railways Traffic Service (1997 batch) was released at Caring Minds, Kolkata on 31.3.2019. A panel comprising of Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie as Chief Guest, Ms. Agnimitra Paul, famous Fashion Designer Social Activist, Ms. Minu Budhia, Founder Director, Caring Minds and Ms. Payel Ghosh, Engineer and Book Consultant & Moderator of the event along with the author released the book in presence of packed enthusiastic audience.
An interesting discussion on marriage in ancient time and present days, old traditions being challenged by the moderator’s interpretations in this evolving society and inner conflict between conscience and tradition through the story of “Seduction by Truth” was initiated by Ms. Ghosh with narration of mythological story of genesis of marriage by Sage Svetaketu which the author later explained in the text of his book. This fiction should have a good plot, a timeline, pleasing language, mastery, romance, catharsis and pain and the author Mukul Kumar has intelligently put all these in the book.
“Seduction by Truth” is a story, part reality, part legend that dares the modern readers to solve the mankinds oldest puzzle: marriage. Mukul Kumar presently works in the capacity of the Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Marketing), Northern Railway, New Delhi. His previous publications include “Irrepressible Echoes”, a book on English poetry and “As Boys become Men” by Rupa Publishers in 2016.

Upgradation of Howrah-Yesvantpur Duranto under project “Utkrisht”
Kolkata: In order to improve the condition of coaches running in Mail/Express trains, Indian Railways launched “Project Utkrisht” in April 2018 to upgrade 66 pairs of trains comprising of 140 rakes.
The first Upgraded rake of 12245/12246 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express under “Project Utkrisht” left Howrah for Yesvantpur yesterday (01-02-2019) morning. The upgradation work of remaining two rakes of Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express will also be completed within this financial year. The estimated cost of upgradation of each rake is Rs.60 lakh.
This is the second train which is upgraded as “Utkrisht” in South Eastern Railway. Earlier, in the month of December 2018, the upgradation work of one rake of 22213/22214 Shalimar-Patna Duronto Express was completed and put into service on 24-12-2018. Two rakes of 22891/22892 Howrah-Ranchi Intercity Express will also be upgraded under the “Project Utkrisht” very soon.
