GM/SER inspects Digha-Tamluk & Panskura-Kharagpur sections of Kharagpur Division
General Manager stressed on passenger comfort, better facility, punctuality, safety, and security
Kolkata: General Manager, South Eastern Railway P. S. Mishra inspected Digha -Tamluk & Panskura – Kharagpur sections of Kharagpur Division along with all principal officers from SER Hqrs. and Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur, this morning (29-01-2019). During his day-long inspection, General Manager inaugurated various works in these sections from Digha to Kharagpur i.e. Pre cast Gang Tool Room, Children’s Park, renovated Parcel Office, Supervisors’ & Officers’ Rest House, RPF Outpost etc.
Shri Mishra, during his detailed inspection, inspected the progress of various passenger amenities works like facilities at Railway Colony, Rest Houses, Divyang toilets, Dormitory, VIP Lounge, Waiting Halls (both AC & Non-AC), circulating areas etc. During the inspection, General Manager inspected level crossing gates, curves, Traction Sub-stations etc. General Manager, while proceeding to Tamluk, inspected the important Railway Bridge on river HALDI.

Minor railway bridges were also taken into his inspection from an engineering point of view for better maintenance. General Manager/SER has given priority of existing amenities and above all cleanliness at station premises and explored the possibility of further improvement.
While inspecting the Digha-Tamluk section, Shri Mishra asked all officers and staff to be more careful on the safety of train operations and ensure utmost safety. General Manager warned that no one will be spared if safety-related rules are not followed. No short-cut on safety will be tolerated. General Manager wants zero tolerance on safety on SER.
General Manager thoroughly inspected cabins, Station Managers’ room, booking offices and spoke to the concerned staff on duty. General Manager stressed on passenger comfort, better facility, punctuality, safety, and security.
A speed trial at 130 kmph was conducted between Panskura and Kharagpur to assess the condition of the railway track. General Manager interacted with Press & Media Reporters at Tamluk and apprised them about various innovative initiatives in the field of passenger amenities.
Later, Shri Mishra interacted with local Public Representatives and Railway Associations at Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Kharagpur.
S E Railway organizes international Aesthetic Surgery Workshop
Kolkata: An International Aesthetic Surgery Workshop was held at the Central Hospital, S E Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata under the aegis of ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) Education Council on 24th January 2019, where more than 300 Plastic Surgeons from all over the country and abroad participated.

The faculty included surgeons from the USA, Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel, and Turkey. According to senior plastic surgeon of S E Railway Central Hospital, Dr. Anjana Malhotra, a number of surgeries were performed at the hospital using the latest technologies available. The surgeries were webcast to various countries simultaneously.
