Officers are moving altogether in the same post

Change of Chair in the same place granted as a transfer in Rlys

This is what happens in Southern Railway for the past 30 years

If the head is right then only we can expect the change in the tail

Trivandrum: In Trivandrum Division, railway administration can’t transfer any officer. That is the clout and hold they have at Southern Railway headquarters. There is a big nexus of officers who keep on rotating their posts within the division.

Whenever their tenure is over, they will go for interdepartmental transfer within the division limit and after six months they will come back to the same post. This is what is happening in Trivandrum Division for the past 30 years.

This trend is evident in Engineering, Electrical, Safety, Operating and Mechanical departments of the division. Senior DEN/North will go as SrDEN/South and soon return back to his home turf. If he has no other choice he will create a new post as SrDEN (special work).

The SrDEN Sreekumar is there in the key posts for the past 25 years. During his tenure, no repair work has happened and division is feeling the heat now. Sreekumar is playing the same card every year.

Electrical head Vijayakumar, Safety head Ravikumarn Nair and now transferred SrDOM P. L. Ashok Kumar are the other three in this list who never goes out of Trivandrum division and do all the damage.

When Safety officer was transferred he went to Prime Ministers’ office and blocked his transfer. Mechanical officers are shuttling between Trivandrum and Ernakulam to safeguard their posts. The electrical department is notorious for this kind of inter-division transfers.

Those who don’t wish to go out of the division finds alternative posting in Trivandrum Safety department. The curse of Trivandrum division is these kinds of people. Whoever comes as DRM this lobby will halt any new development work and try to sit inside the division till retirement.

The interesting part of this story is that the person who is supposed to transfer these guys is sitting as Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM) of Southern Railway for past five and half years. If the head is right then only we can expect the change in the tail.

Railway Board has initiated action against SrDOM/TVC only when the punctuality of Trivandrum division reached the bottom of all India list. Ashok Kumar who is transferred to Palakkad Division on the first week of this month but not released yet had completed 2 years as DOM, and in next grade as SrDOM for another 2 years. altogether 4 years in the same post.

Anantharaman who is supposed to be transferred to Railway Board is safely continuing as PCOM/SR saying he has only one year left to retire. In the meantime, he is trying to give his hand-picked servants the best deal possible.
