Trackmaintainers play a pivotal role in the safety of Tracks -Dr Ashok Tripathi

Trackmaintainers give their  utmost best to their job in all the seasons -Ganeshwar Rao

Both Federations are not only failed but trying to break the unity among Trackmaintainers

Phulera: Railway Karmchari Trackmaintainers Association (RKTA) was organised a safety seminar and cleanliness drive (swachchhata Abhiyan) recently at Railway Institute, Phulera under Jodhpur Division of North Western Railway. Several Trackmaintainers from all over Divisions of NWR have participated in this meeting. Matters of importance like Cold weather patrolling precautions, adapting different safety measures were discussed. This information given to ‘Railway Samachar’ in a press release by RKTA.

Dr Ashok Tripathi, former PAC member, Railway Board was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr Tripathi said that Track maintainers play a pivotal role in keeping the safety of Tracks. The dream of running super fast trains and bullet trains on time will not come true without giving credit to Track maintainers.

Special Guest S. P. Jaiswal, Ex-PAC member of Railway Board has expressed that he constantly tried to improve the working standards of Track maintainers but due to non-formation of any Association for Track maintainers it would have not been possible, but since RKTA has come into the light and the Railway Board started taking care of these people also.

Addressing the mass of Trackmaintainers Ganeswar Rao, General Secretary, RKTA said that Track maintainers give their utmost best to their job in all the seasons. Even having equivocal social and domestic responsibilities, these Track maintainers with great devotion work relentlessly in keeping the safety of tracks. But the most pitiful part is supervisors and administration never understand the plight of Track maintainers.

Supervisors try every means to pressurise the manpower and break the willpower of our Track maintainers. Track maintainers are being considered as low-class Employee. Neither supervisors nor officers and staff of other departments mingles with them. Even the situation is worse when these Track maintainers feel ashamed to let anyone know about their Designation, Rao said.

He als said that the situation has started improving by the best efforts of Ashwini Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board. His strict orders and guidelines in behavioural changes of the supervisors and officers have shown its impact. Track maintainers are receiving good respect from all, which was not earlier.

RKTA is working for providing the lost respect to the Track maintainers. It will work on the progress of this manpower. Federations have tried best to suppress our demands and keep the pressure on Track maintainers for some decades. But RKTA has given a befitting reply to these federations by gathering all our brothers together under one roof.

Finance secretary RKTA, Dilip Kumar Rai said about strengthening the Association and bringing all under one roof. Federations are trying to break the unity among Trackmaintainers. Also trying to break the Association has been reported. So we should be equipped enough to fight any situation.

On this occasion, RKTA has declared the Divisional body of Jodhpur Division. Working Committee of Kishangarh and Phulera section has also declared. Several dignitaries have participated in the cleanliness drive at Phulera station premises. Several Divisional and Zonal cadre members RKTA of North Western Railway have participated in this meeting.
