Both Federations are responsible for the backwardness of Trackman

Sompeta: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2018, Railway Karmachaari Trackmaintainer Association (RKTA) organized a safety seminar and blood donation camp for the social cause at Somapeta railway station premises.

On this occasion, the RKTA zonal body of East Coast Railway along with the National General Secretary G. Ganeswar Rao have participated in this auspicious program held at Sompeta station, Khurda Division, East Coast Railway.

Several Trackmaintainers first participated in ‘Swachchhata Abhiyan’ at the station under the prime minister’s national cleanliness drive.

Later Trackmaintainers donated blood. G. Ganeswar Rao also donated blood on this occasion. While addressing the Safety Seminar, RKTA, National General Secretary, Ganeshwar Rao said that both federations are responsible for the current backwardness of Trackman. Today, due to their leaders, the promotion of Trackman has been interrupted.

Expressing his gratitude to the Railway Board, Rao said that the demands of RKTA are being heard, due to which the risk and hardship allowance is being given to the Trackmen and now the order to increase it has also been issued.

He demanded that like other departments, Trackmaintainers should also be promoted in Senior Technician, because after the designation of Mate our forward path has stopped now.

Rao said that whatever Welfare letter is issued from the Railway Board, it delays in the implementation at the divisional levels, and sectional level causing Trackmaintainers to suffer a lot. These shortcomings should be removed as soon as possible, otherwise, RKTA will be forced to do the agitation.

On this occasion, hundreds of Trackmaintainer including Zonal President Prashant Kumar Rana, Zonal Secretary Tapan Kumar Barik, Zonal Assistant General Secretary, Coordinator of Khurda Division B. Ravi Kumar were also present.
