It is incredible that a person who had forsaken the Railway service is allowed to occupy such high post

Chennai: It is evident from the order that the resignation of Mr. N. Kanniah from the Railway service was accepted by the Railway administration with effect from 23.04.2008.

While it is  incomprehensible that he was allowed to continue as the General Secretary of the Railway trade union – SRMU – after his resignation.

It is shocking that now he is elevated to the post of the President of All India Railway Men’s Federation (AIRF).

It is incredible that a person who had forsaken the Railway service more than a decade ago is allowed to occupy such high post.

Some of railwaymen say that It is clear that people like, N. Kanniah, are using their ill-gotten money to manipulate the system for their selfish motives.

He says, People like N. Kanniah are a major hinderance to the bargaining power of the workmen in Railways and are a curse to the trade union movement in India in total.

They urge all self respecting Railway Men and Railway Unions to question and protest the occupation of a resigned employees in top post of the Railway Federation, AIRF, in the interest of Workmen in Railway.

N. Kanniah has a close association with Stalin and other DMK leaders. It was Mr. Kanniah who back stabbed the Railway strike by calling it off even when the negotiations were on between government and National Joint Council (JAC).

Some Southern Railway employees say, “People get appreciation who got elevation with honesty and hard work and the devotion for the people, not corrupt and manipulators like Kanniah”.
