RPF/CR solved a major theft case and recovered entire property
Total 17 accused arrested, and master mind and main accused chairman of a recognise union of Kurla branch absconding, RPF destroyed unauthorised union office

Crime no. 03/2020 u/s 3RP(UP) Act Dated 17/08/2020 at RPF Post, Kurla, Mumbai Division, Central Railway.
Recovery: 186 pieces of OHE Mast (Pole) were recovered from the site located between Central Railway Samaj Kalyan Kendra and Gamen bridge, near Diesel Shed Kurla.
And 102 pieces from the truck (Total -288 pieces of 29 OHE mast) 34 MT. Entire property recovered.
Value of recovered: Rs 25.6 lakhs – Other Property Seized. One truck,15 oxygen cylinders, 5 commercial gas cylinders, 9 gas cutters and one scooty.
Arrest: Total 17 accused were arrested (15 from spot and 2 accused arrested latter with truck laden with stolen railway property).
Modus Operandi: The OHE materials for Byculla-Kurla line work were kept at this isolated place.
Railway employee and main accused Amir Khan (yet to be) MCM/C&W under SrCDO/C&W/LTT (Chairperson, Central Railway Mazdoor Sangh, Kurla Branch) hatched a plan to sell the railway property through co-accused Khurshid Alam, Jung Bahadur Sawant @Babu @Guddu and others.
On Sunday 16/08/2020 they hired seven labourers for gas cutting and hired 15 oxygen cylinders, 5 commercial gas cylinders and 9 gas cutters.
As the place was enclosed with walls from sides and the gate area was also covered with tarpaulin, the cutting was carried on from about 10:00 hrs later seven labour were arranged for loading.
The truck was parked at Central Railway Social Welfare Centre, Kurla functioning under the main accused Amir Khan in disguise as a railway work in progress.
Detection: On information from IPF/CIB/Panvel, Central Railway about some criminal activity being carried on at Kurla yard the IPF/Kurla, Mumbai Division with staff apprehended the criminals and recovered the stolen railway property.
Total 15 accused were arrested from the site. Later truck number MH03-CP-6865 loaded with stolen material was also recovered.
IPF/Dadar was the Investigation Officer of the case. The case was related to the property of the Construction Organisation of Central Railway.
All divisions to sensitise all officers and staff of TRD to keep proper accountal of materials and ensure its safety to avoid such theft cases and pilferage of materials.
