The plan is set for IAS and private players to enter Railways

These changes are not only being done for Railways but for other PSU’s as well

At least one Zone would be headed by an IAS officer and one by an exCEO of a successful private company

New Delhi : A highly placed source in Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has said that the plan is set for IAS and private players, popularly known as political entities or nominated as independent director or well known as political dalals, to enter Railways.

Sources say, this has been done at the behest of some very senior IAS Officers who are trying to regain the lost ground of IAS Officers specially after many non IAS are taking deputations in Central Ministries.

Highly placed sources also told that some major decisions with respect to Railways’ privatization will be taken up after April. That’s why present CRB has been given one year extension instead of 3 months.

They also told that the privatisation bid include privatizing most of the Railways’ maintenance activities. Most workshops, sheds will move towards corporatization, where in many Railway Officers would be absorbed.

150 private trains would materialise in 2020 itself and most profitable routes will be given to private players, sources said. All these activities would be sold as 20 achievements of PM’s vision 2020.

At least one Zone would be headed by an IAS officer and one by an exCEO of a successful private company.

These changes are not only being done for Railways but for other PSU’s as well.

CRC should have first examine the issue!

Cadre Review Committee (CRC) should have first examined the issue and only after its recommendation to this effect, Cabinet approval should have been taken. There are apparent procedural flaws, said a senior railway officer.
