Fraud in JTBS at Kalyan CRly detected by CTC Antifraud Team
Mumbai: Recently UTS Railway ticket fraud detected at JTBS (a private agency authorised by Central Railway, Mumbai Division) near Kalyan Railway station.
The Railway Board’s CTC antifraud team on source information that certain fake UTS tickets are in use in Mumbai suburban section.
The CTC antifraud team conducted special checks to keep an eye on the tickets issued by different agencies in Mumbai Suburb.
While such check at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) station, the team came across hand written stamped ticket.
On investigation it was found that the ticket was issued from JTBS KYN-97 (private agency).
On further investigation it was found that the JTBS operator first booked a Rs. 5, Kalyan to Dombivali single ticket but did not print on the stock. The stock was left blank.
Then he forged the ticket by changing the destination from Dombivali to CSMT return and amount from Rs. 5 to Rs. 30.
The operator endorsed all particulars on blank ticket by pen and then rubber stamped it to make it original. He then gave the forged ticket to the passenger and took Rs.30 from the passenger.
On further investigation the ticket operator accepted of doing malpractice to earn money by him and his JTBS owner.
The CTC antifraud team after investigation has submitted the report to Railway Board for strict action.
The Railway Board after considering will forward the matter to Zone (CRly) for strict action. The check was conducted by Vivek Singhai, Hemant Sharma, P. S. Baghel and Sandeep C. of CTC Antifraud Team, Railway Board, New Delhi.
The JTBS thus can be seen as a big revenue loss to the railway by issuing huge number of such forged tickets to huge number of passengers by doing such frauds.
