Worst situation of track maintainers is due to Federations only -Joshi

RKTA has organized a safety seminar and blood donation camp

Hubli: Railway Karmachari Trackmaintainer Association (RKTA) has organized a safety seminar and blood donation camp at Shatabdi Bhawan, Railway Station ground, Hubli under South Western Railway on 9th December 2018. On this auspicious occasion General Manager, South Western Railway A. K. Singh has visited and also donated blood. He lauded the service of RKTA and inspired all the track maintainers.

Addressing the mass of track maintainers Prahlad Joshi, MP, said that the worst situation of track maintainers welfare is due to recognized federations only. Federations have never taken care of the pain to take up the issues of track maintainers at any forum. For several decades together federations have diverted the real issues of track maintainers and used these track maintainers as their vote bank.

MP said that since these track maintainers have started to come under the roof of RKTA they are enjoying the special status and feeling great respect among everyone. I request the central government to do the all needful and best for these track maintainers in implementing all the special schemes and privileges for which they are best eligible.

Track maintainers are called as the pillars of Indian Railways but it is the most heart-wrenching situation that these people are always forced to work under mental and physical pressure. This is purely against the Railway conduct rules. I request the Railway Board to take up the valid issues like LDCE open to all and all promotional benefits etc. Joshi said.

Ganeswar Rao, General Secretary RKTA said to the mass of track maintainers that there is no more trust and confidence on federations. Track maintainer does not want to raise their issues before federations rather they prefer to talk to the heart with RKTA and solve their problems.

He further said it is a very agonizing situation when the Railway Board is issuing welfare measures for track maintainer but the supervisors and in charge are not in good mood to implement them. Railway Board has taken a very good initiative of easy mutual transfer but the administration is not adopting the same.

He requested Railway Board to give a fit answer these Supervisors and administration. The group ‘D’ staff of other department are having open channels for their promotions and they reach up to senior technician and higher posts but a track maintainer has no such options. Rao said that RKTA will play a game changer role in the forthcoming union elections.

On this occasion, V. Ravi founder and President of RKTA said that railway about health started taking the real issues of track maintainers due to the best working methodology of RKTA. If Railway Board allows and gives responsibility to make Indian Railways corruptionless, then track maintainers will participate wholeheartedly.
