With the rapid growth of passenger and freight traffic, it has become necessary on the part of Railways to modernise and maintain the signaling and interlocking equipments at stations on the important trunk routs and Signal Points in order to carry and ease the traffic movement<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

South Eastern Railway<\/strong> is always committed to provide safe and comfortable journey to the passengers across its jurisdiction.<\/span><\/p>\n

To fulfil this commitment, SERly has been upkeeping all sorts of safety related works irrespective of all departments viz, mechanical, electrical, engineering, and signal & telecommunication\u00a0during Covid-19 hit year just gone by.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Signal & Telecommunication department of South Eastern Railway has come forward with its entire machinery to conduct necessary maintenance and repairing works\u00a0 \u00a0on regular measures over\u00a0four Divisions – Kharagpur, Adra,\u00a0Ranchi and Chakradharpur\u00a0 with a view to ensure safe running of train services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Field workers and officers of S&T department, without fear of\u00a0Covid-19 pandemic have taken challenge\u00a0to perform sincerely their duties\u00a0and have attended and successfully completed all kinds of safety related works.<\/span><\/p>\n

Works\u00a0related to S&T viz, commissioning of Electronic Interlocking, Block Station, Block Sections, Route Relay Interlocking,\u00a0Auto Signaling,\u00a0Electronic Interlocking, LED Signalling, Interlocking Level Crossing Gates, Sliding Boom,\u00a0Replacement of old equipments, Out\u00a0Point, Data Logger, Digital Gadgets etc. all now well maintained.<\/span><\/p>\n

All stations of South Eastern Railway have been provided with LED signals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Activities under Mission \u2018Satyanishtha\u2019 have been initiated.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a part of success, 3 major categories of training programme have been organised to impart training of the Telecom engineers & Supervisors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Steps have also been taken in regular basis to improve upkeep and cleanliness in work places.<\/span><\/p>\n

These apart, digital initiatives have been taken like counter communication system (CCS), Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), Passenger Reservation System (PRS), installation of Wi-Fi at stations as passenger friendly steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important stations and other apparently sensitive stations have been equipped with CCTVs for better surveillance in context of safety and security of travelling passengers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Level Crossing gates are well equipped with sliding booms in respect of high safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Signaling and Interlocking works have significantly ensured the safe and expeditious running of trains throughout the system.<\/span><\/p>\n

The overhauling\u00a0 and maintenance of Signal & Telecom equipments provided with railways is a never-ending process and South Eastern Railway has been doing this\u00a0all along during lockdown and unlock periods in form of old assets replacement, modernization and their execution.<\/span><\/p>\n
